two steps to achieving CCIE©
certification are:

Prepare for and pass a two-hour computer-based CCIE©
Qualification Examination. The qualification exam is administered
through Cisco authorized testing centers.

Prepare for and successfully complete a hands on lab examination
at a Cisco©
facility. After you have passed the CCIE©
Qualification Exam, you are eligible to schedule the CCIE©
lab
examination.
